(SM)                              The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for prescription order entry, answering incoming calls, completing outbound calls to/from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity.This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (9am to 5:30pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. Our office is located at 13131 Dairy Ashford, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Primary Responsibilities:Process member prescriptions or prior authorizations through various computer systems ensuring the accuracy of all data and updating as necessaryNavigate across multiple computer systems to respond to questions or to provide specific medication details/clinical informationReceive incoming calls from members or providers; conduct outgoing calls as needed to provide follow-up or consultation such as prior authorization requirements, appeals, etc.Apply benefit plan criteria in making decisions (approvals/denials) or recommendations; clarify and explain pharmaceutical benefits and proceduresProcess, pack or ship pharmacy orders to include the counting and dispensing of medications, accurate labeling and packing in appropriate manner for shipment within the required timeframesMaintain dispensing units ensuring they are filled with correct products, returns products that are no longer valid due to recalls, supply issues, etc.

Requirements

Start of employment is contingent upon successful state Pharmacy Technician licensing and registration1 year of pharmacy/prescription data entry experience preferredAn education level of at least a high school diploma or GED OR 10 years of equivalent working experienceFamiliarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applicationAbility to remain focused and productive each day though tasks may be repetitiveAbility to work regularly scheduled shifts within our hours of operation including the training period, where lunches and breaks are scheduled, with the flexibility to adjust daily schedule, and work over-time and/or weekends, as neededAll new hires will be required to successful complete Pharmacy Operations training classes and demonstrate proficiency of the materialThere are several steps in our hiring process - it’s a thorough process because we want to ensure the best job and culture fit for you and for us.
