Position Description:


This Position is in the mail room of a Mail Order Pharmacy so requires no direct contact with patients or members unless to verify information provided.
Primary Responsibilities: 

Positions in this function assist in creating /routing pharmacy orders through receipt, review and verification of members' prescriptions.
Preps and scans documents, verifies member data, submits orders in computer system.
May contact members to validate data, request payment information and establish priority of order.
Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates order, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription and reimbursement information from computer system, as permitted by state regulations.
Incumbents typically are not licensed pharmacy technicians.
May include licensed pharmacy technicians doing non-technician work.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work Monday - Saturday (8 hours per day) as required (typically two Saturdays per month)
Ability to use PC to check several Applications simultaneously in several Windows to obtain data and to learn more complicated functions with training
Preferred Qualifications:


Pharmacy Technician License
Experience using keyboard 10 key by touch
1+ year of prior mail room experience
1+ year of experience in Office/Clerical environment
Soft Skills:


Ability to work within a team but with limited directions once training is completed
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: 


Ability to lift small packages up to 40lbs.

Ability to sit or stand at computer and enter data for 90 minutes at a time without a break
