Job Overview:

The Lead Data Analyst will work across multiple teams within a domain to understand and help realize the MVP (Minimum Viable Product). Co-located within the domain the Data Analyst will - working closely with the Product Manager, domain architect, and agile/lean delivery teams - discover and articulate data relationships across systems for the target use case(s). Using their communication, technical, and analytical skills the Data Analyst will be expected to drill into multiple systems across the enterprise with the goal of identifying, through hind sighting and visualization, opportunities to increase sales and average order value. Pivotal to this role is the ability to narrate business opportunities using empirical data to align leadership and potential stakeholders. This role requires self-direction, self-motivation, and a winning can-do attitude.

Essential Functions:

• Work closely with Site Engineering and Architecture, business stakeholders, and Merchandising, to evaluate and prioritize business needs
• Evaluate data accuracy and usefulness
• Provide data flow diagrams and documenting processes
• Provide quantitative analysis to support business stakeholder use cases to maximize selling opportunities
• Understand corporate systems, data environments and reporting tools
• Data mine and analyze site customer data and site catalog data, sifting out opportunities to increase sales and average order value
• Research and analyze various data source systems using SQL and/or SQL tools to study the data and match the requirements
• Comfortable coordinating the efforts of others to tackle issues that may reside outside the scope of the candidate's own personal knowledge
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• BA/BS Degree in Information Systems or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience with enterprise data quality and data integration
• Experience & familiarity with customer and product catalog data
• Experience in data analysis and problem solving with large amounts of data
• Working knowledge of big data technologies - Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Scala, R. An interest in ML and algorithms is a bonus
• Ability to create a Proof of Concept using a programming or scripting language e.g. java, perl, python
• Excel technical skills & experience with writing SQL statements for relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, MySQL are required for this role
• Strong knowledge and experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and iterative practices

Communication Skills:

• Strong communications skills (spoken and written) and the ability to effectively communicate design recommendations to a varied audience

Reasoning Ability:

• Strong analytical and documentation skills
