Credit & Collections Specialist:
This position will assure A/R file is managed according to company principles and credit department policies and procedures
- Assure assigned receivable file is properly managed
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Analyze current credit data, market requirements as defined by sales, and determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit to new and existing customers
- Identify and resolve all customer questions and/or issues within 24 hours of customer inquiry
- Coordinate with sales to credit review new customer accounts
- Work closely with sales and customer service to assure customer accounts are properly managed and risk is defined
- Manage credit card transactions
- Perform collection activities on open accounts to assure customer contact within 20 days of invoice due date
HOURS:
- 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Mon - Fri
-> We can be flexible on the start time based on the candidates situation
OT:
- Uncommon, however, month end they could see some extra hours
MUST:
- Previous experience in Credit: DNBi Reports, Trade and bank references, review of past credit history
- Previous Customer Service experience and dealing with difficult situations
- Strong MS Excel and Word skills
PLUS:
- Associate or Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or Finance
- Previous experience in Collections: building positive relationships with customers and sales, collection calls that have reduced outstanding payments
- The most important aspect is that the candidite have experience with Credit; they'll also need to have experience or the personality to understand collections and how to go about resolving outstanding payments
