SUMMARY:
Implements the product roadmap to create market-leading content in the form of books, papers, articles, editorials, videos, webinars and other media. Creates some original content but primarily curates, proofs and edits third-party content.
Manages the relationship with content authors to ensure on-time delivery of and high-quality original content. Sometimes serves as editor and sometimes manages external editors. Works with media groups, subject matter experts and editorial advisory boards. Coordinates internal stakeholders such as content management, events, education, professional development, sales, marketing and customer support. Passionately champions his/her products.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Creates (writes) original content for the website and publications including but not limited to articles, editorials, white papers, product descriptions, introductions and author descriptions.
*Coordinates all phases of content production and publication for his/her portfolio. Demonstrates ownership of this process by exhibiting strong leadership from end-to-end.
*Edits, proofs, and curates timely, engaging content for the website and other content platforms.
*Manages authors and third-party editors to ensure the strength of those relationships and the on-time delivery of high-quality content for books, papers, collections and other media.
*Manages a detailed and accurate roadmap and project plans for his/her portfolio.
*Contributes to the achievement of organizational goals by contributing to additional projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
*Bachelor's degree in a related field, required.
*Two or more years of professional writing and editing for a commercial enterprise
*Two or more of years managing authors, manuscript submission and book production
*Experience with editorial review best practices, boards and peer review processes
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
*Exceptional and demonstrable writing skills
*Exceptional and demonstrable editing and proofing skills
*Highly dexterous working with software tools including MS Office and workflow / task management applications
*Familiarity with, and passion for, the product team's target industries
*Ability to communicate in an open, direct, concise manner
*Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
*Proven ability implement and deliver diverse products (lead frontlist, midlist, backlist, print, digital) and prioritize according to business needs
*Proven ability to meet and exceed budget and time-to-market objectives
*Domain knowledge of the automotive industry is very helpful
*Ability to travel approximately 25% (domestic and international)
