The Security Guard is responsible for patrolling DISH Network property for security breaches, maintenance problems, fire and building hazards, etc., and ensuring the overall safety and security of people, property and information.

 

  • 1 year certificate from college or technical school; or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous Security Experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
  • Monitors security cameras and fire, building, and alarm systems
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
  • Issue security badges as needed. Controls personnel, visitor and contractor access to Dish Network facilities
  • Maintains an event log of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
  • Operates computer systems supporting computerized security programs
  • Response to alarms, security situations and other incidents taking action as directed to resolve the problem
  • Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn appropriate personnel of rule infractions or violations
  • Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems
  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time
