The Right Stuff

  • Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university AND 3 to 4 years of relevant experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in an existing digital marketing and/or social media role is required; Understanding of relevant social media metrics, including Reach, Engagement, and CPA is required.
  • Experience in managing content creation and distribution is a plus; Excellent MS Excel and MS Powerpoint skills desirable
  • Comprehension of web and mobile design, development and analytics a plus;Experience in multicultural marketing a plus
  • Strong communication skills to communicate effectively with other business units to form strong cross org and cross enterprise wide relationships
  • Strong collaborative/ team work skills; a problem solver with a results orientation; Attention to detail and ability to work with numbers and data to produce meaningful insights

The Role

We are seeking a passionate, energetic and flexible individual to join our International Business Unit as Social Media Lead.  Our team operationalizes, markets, and sells international programming packages, available in over 20 language groups, within the United States. 

 

The Social Media Lead will be responsible for overseeing all strategies and tactics designed to grow the organic presence, fan base and engagement of DISH and Sling TV.  Digital marketing is already a significant growth driver for our business and an enthusiastic social media expert is required to lead our efforts across all social media platforms.  This position will report to the Senior Manager – Digital Marketing for the International Business.

 

The scope of the role may include but isn’t limited to developing social media strategies and designing plans to increase our user base and grown engagement among our targeted language groups.  S/he will work cross functionality across the enterprise with key stakeholders from relevant business groups to ensure all business unit requirements are met, and initiatives can be launched without business disruption.

 

S/he should be comfortable working autonomously in a fast paced environment, taking the initiative, managing multiple reporting requirements and relationships with key stakeholders, and working to find creative solutions as needed.

 

The Responsibilities

  • Lead development of International social strategy for both DISH and Sling in conjunction with the Senior Manager – Digital Marketing.
  • Implement the social media strategy for DISH and Sling across all relevant social media platforms.
  • Manage outside vendors responsible for content creation, measurement, and social app development.
  • Define and manage the DISH and Sling content calendar across all social platforms.
  • Work with other digital team members to coordinate content boosting opportunities and spend optimization.
  • Own digital agency relationships at a working level.
  • Lead organizational understanding and implementation of emerging social technologies.
