POSITION PURPOSE - The Asset Protection Specialist (APS) is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
The APS will utilize tools to minimize Company loss, including but not limited to:
*Identifying incidents of theft and fraud (external and internal)
*Reviewing CCTV and exception reports
*Monitoring the store's physical security
*Auditing the EAS
*Driving a 'shrink elimination' culture in the store
NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Store Manager.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy and/or may be involved in some mildly difficult situations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
To be considered for this position, applicants must:
*Be 18+ years old
*Pass a drug test
EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas
and/or GED.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 1
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Formal Loss Prevention training program after high school. One year experience as a Retail Loss Prevention Investigator preferred. Competent in the use of retail CCTV systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
*Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
*Be able to work a flexible full-time schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays
*Have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work independently and with minimal supervision
*Relationship building skills. Knowledge of loss prevention techniques.
*Ability to analyze Loss Prevention reports and recognize trends.
