About this job

The Business Analyst Consultant will serve as an expert resource within the HEDIS Population Health management team of United Clinical Services. This position will be part of a team that builds and supports large and complex cross-functional initiatives in order to drive quality improvement in areas of HEDIS data integrity and analytics.
 
The Business Analyst Consultant will assist in gap analysis to help us understand the difference between current and future state elements and processes surrounding HEDIS data management and integrity, and will provide recommendations and drive implementation of future state HEDIS reporting and process components. The Business Analyst Consultant will support short and long term operational and strategic business activities by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. They will also develop and implement strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes. They will conduct and / or coordinate gap and root cause analysis to put in place actions and mitigations to improve end - to - end HEDIS data integrity and reporting. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:


Build and manage large scale data sets that directly support HEDIS data quality improvement and reporting

Define the approach and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to define and gather business, functional and non - functional requirements

Validate requirements with stakeholders and project teams, providing suggestions and recommendations as appropriate

Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data pertaining to HEDIS measures which is sourced from various enterprise systems

Conduct gap analysis between current and future state and assist in the build and operationalization of future processes pertaining to HEDIS business strategy

Analyze data and trends, perform root cause analysis to determine and establish best practices and areas of improvement related to HEDIS data collection, reporting, outreach

Develop and document end - to - end HEDIS reporting and business process flows, data flows, system impacts, and procedural task and procedural change issues

Identify and / or establish appropriate testing metrics / target to validate that business requirement are being met (i.e., performance metrics, process deliverables, traceability, business value)

Conduct and / or support testing activities (i.e., production, regression and user acceptance testing, production validation)

Plan / execute user testing scenarios / scripts and prepare test data

Provide ongoing support to ensure proper implementation and adoption of the solution (i.e., post-deployment support, definition / monitoring of control plans)

Perform production support monitoring and issue resolution analysis to prevent adverse impact during HEDIS production cycle and / or program execution period

Work on ad hoc projects as assigned

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

3+ years of experience using SQL or SAS to write queries for ad - hoc analyses, data quality, and data profiling to gain a detailed understanding of the data

3+ years working within large, complex, matrix organization; preferably with IT experience or experience with healthcare data, analytics, reporting, and systems

2+ years of experience working in managed care organization or healthcare technology organization (PPO, HMO, etc.)

Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Access, Word, Power Point, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:


Certified Analytics Professional certification (CAP)

Experience developing project plans, timelines, milestones, IRAADs, using the appropriate MS Project tools

Experience conducting JAD sessions to obtain business requirements

Knowledge and experience in healthcare systems, operations, regulatory mandates, and industry standards, specifically HEDIS / Star measure reporting

Understanding of healthcare claim processing, coding, enrollment processing, electronic (EDI) transactions, and data analytics

Experience in analysis / engineering or project management, including workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business process (including experience writing requirements)

Demonstrated ability to communicate analysis, including trends and opportunities, to clients and business leadership both verbally and in writing

Excellent communication, time management, problem solving, organizational, and presentation skills

Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively interact, collaborate with, and influence key stakeholders

Ability to work independently in a virtual environment
