Position:  HR Manager (Full-time)
Reports to:  President
 
Mission Statement: Enhancing the lives of aging adults and their families.
 
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, 2439 Linden Lane, Silver Spring, MD 20910.  NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.

 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Hire, train, and manage HR Specialist and HR Assistant.  Write annual reviews.
  • Manage and mentor field personnel.
  • Post and screen potential applicants for various office admin positions.
  • Develop Recruitment and Retention Plan, with assistance from HR Specialist, and implement employee recruitment strategies.
  • Develop and implement new or revised screening strategies and processes.
  • Track and analyze recruitment and retention results.
  • Respond to employment inquiries by phone, in person, and online.
  • Assist with review and response to employment applications, when needed.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews, when needed.
  • Conduct interviews and pre-hire screening tests. 
  • Assist with completing reference checks, when needed.
  • Make hire/no hire decision on applicants; extend employment offers when appropriate.
  • Resolve any pre-hire and new hire issues.
  • Assist with New CG File Process and compile checklists, when needed.
  • Assist with compiling checklists.
  • Meet with new Admin hires to review initial paperwork; complete Admin checklists.
  • Send out notices and monitor existing CG and Admin compliance; scan to V drive. 
  • Provide list to Admin Assistant to run CG and Admin Motor Vehicle Reports.  Review reports to determine any concerns or issues, monthly.
 
Secondary Responsibilities:
 
  • Attend team meeting, weekly.
  • Handle Call Supervisor (back-up only) duties, once a week and one weekend per month.
  • Conduct E-verify and MBON verification, pre-employment drug testing, and background checks of new CGs.
  • Conduct random drug screening, quarterly.
  • Review New CG File Process in ClearCare; review CG File Checklists.
  • Communicate (weekly) to team regarding HR Department updates and share monthly scorecard.
  • Attend periodic training and other company events.
  • Assist with other duties and special projects, as assigned.     
 
Skills Required:
 
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent oral, written, and computer skills.
  • Must have at least two years of management experience.
  • Must be adept at problem solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
  • Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and improve performance through management feedback.
