About this job
Animal care and maintenance of vivarium. The following duties are largely performed while in a clean room environment: Clean cages, cage checks, replace water bottles, health checks on mice, weigh the animals
Preparing large carboys of water solutions, transporting them, and then aliquotting into hundreds of bottles followed by capping them tightly.
Animal health checks and cage changes. This requires that you are able to reach comfortably up to 6 foot 6 inches.
Stocking inventory. Must be able to lift 45lb carboys and 25lb. food bags up to a height of 4 foot 6 inches.
Preparation of lab reagents for the ones inside of the vivarium
