About this job
50% mechanical and 50% electrical
Typical day consists of a balance between taking operator calls and doing project/ PM work
*Designing and installing electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
*Troubleshooting mechanical problems on plant equipment, including compressors, boilers and chiller
*Troubleshooting PLC issues and making corrections, as necessary
*Modifying PLC logic on production equipment
*Capable of designing and installing guarding on existing equipment to meet OSHA requirements.
*Design and layout mechanical aides for process improvement
*Use available resources to develop outside contacts in order to resolve problems or make equipment upgrades.
*Will work with outside vendors on various projects
*Will work with other departments such as tooling, product engineers, etc. to manage projects toward a successful completion.
*Will be expected to perform as a leader and promote attainment of company initiatives by action and example
*Must be flexible to work various shifts, depending on plant schedule and needs
*Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision
*Must be able to train set-up operators and other maintenance personnel in order to enhance others' skill levels.
*Expected to use own personal initiative to upgrade and/or repair equipment, without waiting on direction
*Expected to always promote safety, in order to protect self and others in the work place
*Will perform P.M.'s and provide feedback that can improve the P.M. system
*Must be able to lift 100 pounds at a time
*Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout shift, without sitting down
