Bridgeport Hospital is part of the Yale New Haven Health System. It has been recognized by Becker's Hospital Review as one of the 100 Great Places to Work in Healthcare.  Our Emergency Department this year will see in excess of 85,000 patients and is a the community teaching site for the Yale emergency medicine residency program.  We additionally have Yale resident rotations in Surgery and Pediatrics.  Bridgeport Hospital is a community teaching hospital for its own residencies in Medicine, Podiatry, and OBGYN.  Each residency program partners closely with Yale to offer expertise across each sub-specialty.  The on-call support offered to Bridgeport Hospital and Emergency department includes each sub-specialty including Plastics and Hand.  Our ED vision is to provide great compassionate care to patients and their families in a timely manner.  We offer a highly competitive compensation package which is non RVU based and focuses low clinical hours. Our focus is patient care and experience and we deliver it through the Split Flow Process.  This opportunity for employment has been driven by our increase in ED volume and our supportive administration.

Additional Information

EXPERIENCE: Previous Emergency Room experience preferred.

 

EDUCATION: Completion of a four-year accredited physician assistant baccalaureate program and a year of clinical training.

LICENSURE: State accreditation based on certifying exam. Continued employment requires 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and passing a recertification examination every six years.
