JOB DESCRIPTION
The Maintenance Mechanic "B" is responsible for assisting the maintenance department in keeping the building and equipment functioning properly at all times. This is a training position for learning all the skills needed to perform as a maintenance mechanic "A".
- Wiring and reading schematics, blueprints, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and correct failures through the proper dismantling, repair, assemble, and installation of the complex machinery within reasonable time.
- Make repairs/fabricate in accordance with drawings/other specifications with minimal supervision.
- Maintain the job shop in a clean, orderly fashion.
- Maintain all appropriate records and paperwork as directed.
- Comply with all plant safety rules and regulations, correct safety violations as needed.
- Maintain all lock-out and tag-out safety procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess applicable skills in welding, maintaining hydraulic, plumbing and electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of machine tools, materials, and equipment, including high lift machinery.
- Possess their own hand tools, all of the current techs have their own tool box, there are some specialty tools the company provides.

ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
This pay for this positions mirrors what they would make as a union employee. $20.60 an hour to start, they will get a raise to $20.80 once being brought on perm. After 1 year that will up to $21.82. There are programs this person can attend to become a "master" technician, and that pays $23.60
A matching 401K at 100%. The family plan comes out to about $20/week with medical dental and vision.
This is a night shift, 7pm-7am. This person will be on either 4 days on, 3 days off, or 3 days on, 4 days off. There is a possibility down the line to switch shifts to days, it just will depend on seniority.
