Legal Assistant/Secretary - Litigation

LOCATION: Downtown Portland

SALARY: $55k+ DOE

JOB DESCRIPTION: Highly regarded regional Law firm searching for an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary/Assistant to support multiple Attorneys. Position requires the ability to effectively manage a heavy case load, excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of local Civil Litigation experience. Experience within the areas of Tax, Business, Trademark/IP litigation are a plus.

Responsibilities include administrative and secretarial support including word processing, general client correspondence, preparing and filing documents with the courts; database management, document and case management; calendaring, maintaining confidential information, providing the highest level of client service for both internal and external clients, and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant must be a high energy self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.

Skills required:
• Strong Legal Secretarial/Assistant and Administrative skills including document preparation, document management, case management skills, docketing, calendaring and file management
• Superior knowledge of grammar and punctuation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Highly professional telephone skills; commitment to client service
• Excellent computer skills including excellent Word, WordPerfect and document management / case management software experience with ProLaw, Summation, iManage, Worldox or similar systems
• E-filing experience required
• Five (5) years Litigation experience in Oregon required
