POSITION PURPOSE
These associates are responsible for a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to: loading, unloading, sorting, staging and transporting products, shipping returns, and kitting into and out of a Distribution Center, Branch location, or rental yard. Individuals in this position must have the ability to become certified and operate material handling equipment. Individuals must also work cooperatively with other associates and productively with little supervision. Following company safety policies and procedures is of great importance to this position.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
15% Add, subtract, and calculate quantities of merchandise
20% Unload, sort, stage, and transport merchandise, and deliver it to the proper location
10% Accurately write and distribute forms
15% Identify and read vendor packing slips, carrier shipping documents, UPC labels, and receiving documents
20% Enter receiving and shipping information into the facility's computer system
10% Maintain a clean and functioning work area
10% Interact with a variety of people, including delivery drivers, supervisors, managers, and associates
NATURE AND SCOPE
Typically reports to Department Supervisor.
No direct reports.
Typically has little contact outside workgroup.
Typically assignments are very specific.
Typically refers to basic instructions when solving problems.
Typically, guidance is always available and prior permission is required before changing work methods.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 0 years
Physical Requirements:
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
Additional Qualifications:
Requires ability to use material handling equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
One year experience is preferred.
