Time Warner Cable currently seeks a/an Sr Engineer for our Technology Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary
The Sr OSS Engineer, HP Automation is responsible for management of the HP Automation Suite including automation, compliance, change management and security administration components. The focus of the role is on improving network operations through automation development, in support TWC network operations, Wi-Fi, and IT teams.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Designs, deploys and configures management systems and clients on TWC network
  • Determines integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs
  • Provides technical recommendations, project prioritization, and partnership of application development with engineers, including interacting with third party development organizations
  • Maps and identifies technical dependencies required for system integration
  • Develops scripts and programs to facilitate system functionality and automation
  • Works with vendors for advanced problem resolution and driver development
  • Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems and automations
  • Applies enterprise architecture principles, theories, and concepts
  • Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas

Job Requirements:
  • 4 year degree in Computer Science or Information Systems/Technology or equivalent job experience (5+ years of system programming, planning and support experience)
  • Detailed knowledge of HP Automation (AKA-Opsware) application required; this includes HP Network Automation (NA), HP Server Automation (SA), and HP Operations Orchestration (OO) and supporting systems
  • Scripting/programming in a multitude of languages (Perl, JAVA, Python, PHP, C)
  • Proficient and both Windows and Unix System Administration
  • Familiarity with data networking principles
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team environment to accomplish team goals
  • Must have the ability to contribute to meetings of peers within the organization
  • Must have the ability to contribute to meetings with other departments to determine network dependencies and produce solutions to meet the business needs
  • Typically has –5-7 years relevant experience

  • Project Management Experience
  • Requirements Development Experience

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and
experience
