SUMMARY: Responsible for filling food and beverage orders requested by guests. Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures by properly processing credit card transactions, travelers’ checks, and discount. Maintain service area including replenishment of condiments stands and dining areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet guests, suggestively sell and fill food and beverage orders.                  
  • Operate cash register, follow cash handling procedures by properly processing cash tendered cash, credit card transactions, travelers’ checks, and discounts.
  • Verify starting bank and complete sales audits report upon cashing out at the end of the shift.
  • Replenish condiment stands, straighten chairs and tables, and maintain a clean, sanitized food service area by picking up litter and following established procedures.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:     

  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instruction.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

       Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-1 Year:  Six months to one year Food and Beverage experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) required to stand; talk or hear; use hands and fingers to, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms; lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to walk.
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
