Position Title: Cook
Wage: $15.81 per hour

Schedule:
Position runs from mid-February through August.
AM shift: Start as early as 3:30am, work as late as 12:15pm
PM shift: Start as early as Noon, work as late as 10pm
7 Days per week operation and may have the possibility of overtime.

Qualifications:
• Minimum one year experience in preparing and cooking items and short order in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess hall
• Ability to effective demonstrate cooking duties
o Recipe conversion
o Other criteria as designated by the Project Manager and Culinary Training Manager
• Ability to demonstrate understanding of kitchen equipment and knife safety
• Must have good attendance and punctuality
• Need to have the ability to work under pressure and be dependable
• Must be flexible for working hours and duty requirements

Duties:
• Reports to the Dining Facility Manager
• Preform preliminary food preparation
o Prepare and/or cook menu items listed on the production schedule
o Follow recipes
• Assist in the proper completion of risk management log for cooking and serving
• Perform corrective measures when needed and record data on cooling cooked items temperature
• Apply food protection and sanitation measures in a garrison and field environments
• Knowledge of characteristics of food preparation; color, taste, consistency, volume, and cook time
• Perform general housekeeping duties, operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment
• Assist in preheating/pre-chilling procedures of insulated food containers and preparation for meal services and transportation in a field feed situation
• Perform other duties as assigned
