The Vail Resorts Corporate Finance team is responsible for the financial planning and analysis needed to drive business insights and executive decision-making and to support the Company in achieving its strategic goals.  The Corporate Finance Principal Analyst is a key player on this team and will work closely with the broader Finance and Accounting teams as well as with leaders from within the business, reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance. 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Take a leadership role in Financial Planning and Analysis, including:
  • Annual Operating and Capital Budgeting
  • Monthly Financial Forecasting
  • Ad Hoc Reporting and Executive Decision Support
  • Partner with various areas in the business to manage departmental P&Ls, capital planning, derive business insights, identify key trends and report on performance vs. budget and forecast
  • Contribute to the development of presentations to the Board of Directors and the Vail Resorts Executive Committee
  • Effectively communicate results and insights in writing or verbally
  • Demonstrates a natural curiosity around business results and insights while consistently identifying ways to improve processes and communication
  • Play a leadership role in the integration of new planning and reporting technologies for more efficient and effective business analysis

Qualifications:

  • BS Finance, MBA or CPA preferred
  • 6+ years progressive experience in finance with demonstrated success in financial modeling, planning and analysis
  • Ability to zoom in and out of detail; understands technical details while also able to frame the big picture
  • Expertise in quantitative analysis and presentation; high degree of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong project management skills and ability to remain highly-organized in the face of multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent individual initiative, passion and drive
  • Ability to interact and present to senior-level leadership and executives
  • Highly collaborative approach; seeks to become a trusted adviser to the business
