A large, not-for-profit teaching hospital in Southern Pennsylvania is currently looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist specializing in Rehab to add to their accomplished Clin Spec team.

This hospital is enthusiastic about the difference a Clinical Nurse Specialist can make. From the top leadership down, this hospital truly understands what the CNS role was designed to achieve and have grown their CNS team multiple times. This large facility is very busy, with a recently expanded ER and the main hospital looking to be renovated over the next several years.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work in this hospital’s nearby Rehabilitation Hospital. This hospital offers Acute Rehab, with a designated Neuro Unit. They also offer 50+ beds dedicated to sub-acute rehab. Some of the other amenities include all private rooms, therapy pool and onsite pharmacy and lab. They are located on a beautiful campus with more than enough room for families and friends to visit and roam the campus with patients.

The Rehab CNS will serve as a clinical resource, researcher, mentor, consultant and coach for all groups, including nurses, physicians and staff. This CNS will be the clinical expert and respected as the leader among the nursing staff. The CNS will work directly with senior leadership to develop and institute new initiatives and policies to improve clinical knowledge and performance within the nursing staff, as well as improve overall patient care and experience. Working to ensure standardization of care, identifying deficiencies in knowledge and clinical expertise among the staff, providing professional development opportunities for staff and working daily to improve all aspects of care within the hospital, this CNS has the opportunity to make a renowned hospital even stronger.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Acute Care Medical Surgical medicine and Wound Care. This role requires someone who wants variety and diversity during each workday, as the CNS will wear many hats. This hospital would prefer a Board Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist, however they would also consider an experienced educator or quality manager who is willing to become board certified.

The hospital is situated in a midsize Pennsylvania community that offers residents a low cost of living with lots of amenities such as recreation, local events and activity and close proximity to larger metropolitan areas such as Philadelphia and Baltimore.
