Maintenance Technician - Full-time

POSITION DESCRIPTION:   The maintenance technician will assist in all aspects of the Facilities Department.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform grounds maintenance work.
2. Assemble modular furniture.
3. Perform painting and carpentry duties.
4. Perform minor plumbing and electrical work.
5. Responsible for receiving deliveries.
6. Perform snow removal on college properties.
7. Drive college vehicles to perform work tasks.
8. Operate basic equipment.
9. Assist in events set-up and tear-down, move furniture and equipment.
10. Assist with on campus mail delivery function.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned per supervisor.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school education required, some college preferred.
2. One to three years of maintenance work experience required; institution or education maintenance experience preferred.
3. Experience with computers, email, and database entry highly desired.
4. Must possess a strong attention to detail in performing work.
5. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to perform work independently.
6. Above average interpersonal and customer service skills required.
7. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to climb ladders.
8. Must have a valid driving license.
9. Must be able to work occasional overtime and on weekends.
10. Must be reliable, dependable, punctual and have a good attendance record.
