Technical Consultant - Testing - Multiple Locations

As a Sr Consultant within our organization you will have the opportunity to perform the following types of activities:

Collaborate with technology and business departments to define deliverables and develop solutions that are reusable across the organization
Lead the overall delivery of projects including the direct management of project team members
Perform project management duties including the creation of status reports, work plans and presentations to client leadership
Provide well-informed opinions and architectures for testing technical and business solutions including data aquisition, testing tool configuration and load supporting requirements tracability
Develop technical and business test case design documents to describe, execute and validate proposed implementation integration and business requirements for overall go live readiness supporting either automated or manual test case execution.
Develop detail test case system integration testing design documents supporting EDI and HL7 technical integration quality assurance
Development of automated test scripts supporting an automated testing approach
Develop detail test case user acceptance testing design documents supporting process, desk level procedure, requirements and functionality integration quality assurance
Ensure quality assurance by including the development of test cases, publication of test results, prioritization, support of defect triage and resolution, and work around recommendations 
Conduct research studies that may include collecting, analyzing, trending and presenting data and recommendations to management
Assess and recommend vendor products to client leadership
Develop financial models and tools, including cost-benefit analysis, resource utilization models and performance reports
Create written and oral communication materials that effectively summarize findings, support fact-based recommendations and provides appropriate detail to substantiate conclusions
Maintain work papers, project deliverables and other artifacts that can be recreated and leveraged as intellectual capital

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a business or computer-related field or equivalent work experience
• At least 3+ years experience in any of the following areas:   

Quality Assurance Leadership, System Analysis/Automated and Manual System Integration and User Acceptance Testing
Trading Partner Coordination and Integration of System Integration and User Acceptance Testing
2+ years of healthcare industry experience with preference of knowledge in both payer and provider operations
Consulting experience on large business process or systems integration projects
Solid understanding of the Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) and/or exposure to the Agile development methodology
Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel up to 80%
Telecommuter option or officed at any of the Optum hub locations
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a Big 5 or large consulting organization
Knowledge of health plan front and back-office business processes
