Job Description
FUEL CELL MECHANIC

Aerotek is looking for fuel cell mechanics to work a project with a government contractor in the Lake Charles, LA area. Work will be performed on large fixed wing aircraft.
This is a 5+ month contract opportunity.

Pay: $20/hour, plus additional $615/week Per Diem. (If you divide the $615 into 40 hours/week it ends up being $15.38/hour.
If you add the straight time of������$20+ $15.38 = $35.38/hour for first 40 hours /week.) Must live over 50 miles away and work a minimum of 4 hours for 5 days to qualify for per diem.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform removal, installation, and inspection functions of fuel cells and assembly, and installation of components such as fuel lines, hardware, and fittings on various aircraft.
  • Analyze various aircraft sealing, structural, and assembly drawings, to detect seal level deficiencies. Diagnose results of leak test to detect drawing, specification, structural and assembly sealing errors.
  • Perform disassembly and teardown operations of aircraft fuel systems and related components.
  • Remove fuel cells and components from aircraft, following specific procedures and techniques.
  • Prepare cavity for installation of fuel cells and components.
  • Install fuel cells and components, following specific procedures and techniques. Check condition of fuel cells for any type of damage; and cavity, for condition of internal fittings.

Requirements:

  • Must have 5 years+ fuel cell experience (Prefer 5 years or more in an MRO environment)
  • Must be able to fit in confines/dimensions of fuel tank for 707 aircraft and be able to pass physical.
  • Must be able to work any shift and be prepared to work 5-7 days per week
  • Must be able to demonstrate and apply fuel cell sealant as required inside the aircraft wing.
  • Use appropriate pressure test equipment, and make repairs as required. Work from operation sheets, diagrams, blueprints, engineering orders, mil-specs and verbal instructions.
  • Work with jigs, fixtures, and various tooling, as operations require.
