You’re a visual person-and a master of organization and efficiency behind the scenes of our stockroom. As Merchandising Lead, you play a key role in creating our striking merchandise design. Positive, creative and enthusiastic, you think quickly on your feet and adapt easily to change. Supporting the Merchandising Manager, you help to plan, perform and supervise the work of the merchandising team, shifting your focus as needed—and shifting scheduling—to put visual plans into action. You ensure product on the sales floor is well-stocked and always ready for customers to shop. Beyond the sales floor, your attention extends to the stockroom, which you keep organized and running efficiently at all times. Merchandising Associates look to you as a mentor. You communicate the overall design vision, answer questions, provide productive feedback and lead by example in performing high-level assignments. Your excellent communication skills also cross channels to the sales team to ensure visual merchandising is supporting their efforts.
  • Maximize company sales growth and profitability by supporting the merchandising manager in executing the visual merchandising plan and in effectively leading the merchandising associates in delivering an engaging experience to every customer, every time.
  • Assist and support the execution of the store’s seasonal and weekly floor plans under the direction of the merchandising manager.
  • Lead the merchandising team and manage coverage appropriately reallocating efforts as needed to support store priorities and as determined by the merchandising manager.
  • Coach merchandising associates on compliance and adherence to consistent company processes.
  • Lead by example and maintain a sense of professionalism at all times.
  • Provide specific feedback about performance directly to associates and share observations with the merchandising manager.
  • Assist the merchandising manager in training and developing merchandising associates in all operations, customer service and product knowledge.
  • Assist with the training of new and seasonal merchandising associates at the time of hire and ongoing.
  • Support an engaged customer experience by maintaining an organized and efficient stockroom.
  • Demonstrate company standards in selling, customer service, visual merchandising and teamwork.
  • In coordination with the merchandising manager, ensure product on the sales floor is stocked appropriately and available for customers to purchase.
  • In coordination with the sales managers and sales team lead, manage the closing efforts of the store.
  • Assist with display changes under the direction of the merchandising manager.
  • Assist the merchandising manager to complete essential inventory control functions in an effort to support financial and inventory accuracy.
  • Schedule and implement store maintenance.
  • Maintain, enforce and supervise store safety standards and training.
  • Maintain an awareness of all product information, intranet communications, and current advertising and marketing initiatives.
  • Support and model excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm toward the job and company to both internal and external customers in all forms of communication.
  • Communicate regularly with the merchandising manager to review the merchandising plan, schedule and organization of the merchandising team.
  • Actively participate in weekly merchandising team meetings, store meetings and training sessions.
  • Conduct educational and developmental conversations with merchandising associates.
  • Participate in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems.
Required Skills
  • Previous Distribution Center experience/ retail management and visual merchandising experience preferred
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Good reading, written and verbal language skills (English)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Project management skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to move and/ or lift up to 65 pounds: heavier merchandise with team assist
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
