Job Summary

The Clinical Application Specialist supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality by coordinating the activities necessary to leverage the PhysicianCare Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software system to support the clinical activities within PhysicianCare Practices. Works with Information Systems, to troubleshoot and resolve EMR clinical software application system issues. Facilitates meetings and provides a presence at the clinics to resolve workflow and clinical issues. Participates in the planning and testing of clinical system upgrades and enhancements and serves as the lead content expert for clinical applications. Responsible for clinical quality measures and providing education and training to providers and staff for the EMR software application.  

Job Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • One year experience troubleshooting system issues, assisting with and testing system upgrades and providing general subject matter expertise to leverage an EMR system
  • PC-based clinical software support experience
  • Project management experience
  • ICD-10 experience
  • Meaningful use and knowledge of values based purchasing reimbursement experience

 Required Qualifications:

  • One year experience as an RN in a healthcare setting; physician clinic preferred
  • Ability to develop, design and deliver training to end users; including the creation of training documentation and quick reference guides
  • Must have strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing 
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to travel to and between clinic locations as needed
