We are working on a long term opening in Portland, OR for a Pharmacy Technician.

This position will be supporting the prior authorization team in administrative work. After a training period, this position does have the opportunity to work remotely from home.

Main Duties will include:

  • Primary purpose of this role is to support existing team handling administrative work for pharmacy benefit, reimbursement, and other drug use issues which do not require clinical judgment. This function assists the Clinical Pharmacy Consultants and Pharmacy Services staff with formulary-related operations and other operational processes which require knowledge and experience with pharmaceuticals.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Oregon Pharmacy Technician certification is preferred but not required.
  • Prior authorization or other relevant experience is preferred.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and able to type at least 50 words per minute.

Must have strong knowledge of:

  • Medical terminology.
  • Pharmaceutical products, including orals, injectables, infusion products, and chemotherapy.
  • Health care coding systems
  • General office practices and procedures.
  • Grammar and techniques of business practice.
  • HIPAA regulations
