Here are a few of the meaningful responsibilities you will have when you join our team as a  Registered Nurse at Rapid City Regional Hospital:

  • Plans, coordinates and provides total patient care specific to diagnosis and age of patients served on a continuing basis, to obtain optimum health for patient and family, in accordance with accepted hospital standards and policy and the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act.tions
  • Assesses the health status of the patient in order to develop an individualized care plan.
  • Formulates, implements, evaluates and revises plan of care based on assessment. Reports to physicians and other staff patient response to plan of care.
  • Identifies and documents patient/family education needs. Provides resources to meet their learning needs.
  • Prioritizes and organizes delivery of care in a consistent manner. Initiates interdisciplinary collaboration to promote optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • Utilizes critical thinking in implementing the coordination of medical and nursing interventions. Interventions demonstrate care planning that will promote good clinical outcomes.
  • Handles unanticipated events and crisis situations in a professional manner. Is alert to potential problems and notifies appropriate individual as necessary. Maintains competency of the “on call” role and responsibility by consistently working required call schedules.

To ensure patient safety and clinical quality, this role requires the following education, licensure, and experience:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • South Dakota  Registered Nurse license

We greatly value the following education, licensure, and experience (although only preferred):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing
