About this job

One of our clients, a hospital in the Philadelphia area, is looking for a Credentialing Specialist to support their Medical Affairs Department. This person is responsible for verifying licenses, certifications, backgrounds, etc. for doctors and nurses working with Medical Staff. There is also a good amount of administrative work as well such as faxing, filing, scanning, etc. This person would also be doing light traveling between 2 other hospitals sitting in on meetings taking minutes.

There is potential and opportunity in growth with this company, increasing chances with a Bachelors Degree.

  • Listen actively to meetings and record minutes of said meetings.
  • Assist the Director with orientation of new Medical Staff Members.
  • Manage the preparation of Medical Staff committees as required.
  • Attend meetings, draft minutes, track memberships and attendance.
  • Serve as a co-leader of the Joint Commission Medical Staff Chapter.
  • Ensure the administrative support and manage special projects for the Director, officers, and committees of the Medical Staff as required.
  • Ensure a response to inquiries and calls from physicians, hospital staff and outside vendors in regards to medical staff affairs.
  • Ensure the distribution of notices and updates regarding physician status, vacation schedules, address changes.. etc.
