Position Title: ASSOCIATE RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVE

Position Reports To: HR COMPLEX MANAGER

Department: HUMAN RESOURCES

SUMMARY
The Associate Relations Representative serves as a champion of all HR generalist duties, including but not limited to talent management, talent acquisition, associate development and diversity/inclusion initiatives, and fostering positive & innovative HR solutions to people challenges and opportunities. Responsible and accountable for administration of the Company approved new hire orientation program. Responsible for establishing a working relationship with managers, supervisors and hourly production associates in the processing plant to foster an environment of cooperative progress.

PRINCIPAL AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Describe below the major responsibilities of this position which must be fulfilled with or without reasonable accommodations in order to achieve the essential purpose of this position.

1. Leverage and effectively partner with the facility's leadership team to ensure HR key initiatives, programs and policies are effectively aligned and executed.
2. Lead diversity initiatives and develop a diverse sourcing strategy and innovative approaches to meet business needs. Develop sourcing best practices, foster idea generation, and research and develop new sourcing/recruiting techniques and resources. Identify solutions for obtaining talent utilizing internet, social media and internal databases for developing candidate pipelines.
3. Champions culture by embracing the values of the organization and exhibiting role modeling behavior; ensures the organization embraces the same values to maintain the company as an employer of choice where people are valued, engaged and developed. Proactively assists with driving organizational initiatives and change management efforts.
4. Counsels associates on employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal and informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations, etc. Effectively uses root cause analysis to address associate issues and resolve them through a systematic and analytical approach. Develops, gains approval, and implements programs geared towards associate engagement and allegiance.
5. Develop solid business relationships with internal leaders and external partners to drive results.
6. Provide world-class change management support. Be an active and influential HR leader. Provide strong, business-focused HR leadership in alignment with HR and operational initiatives.
7. Review and analyze HR trends (e.g., retention, etc.) and work with various supervisors and the HR team to ensure effective utilization of talent. Supports management and guides associate actions by aiding with the research, development, and updating of policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; and enforcing organization values. Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting and ensuring accuracy and integrity of data maintained in Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
8. Ensure compliance and employment laws and regulations. Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by remaining abreast of existing and new legislation, adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
9. Contribute information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; assists with human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
10. Coordinate and participate in community relations projects and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (include any specialized or technical
knowledge, certifications, credentials or licensing required for this position):

REQUIRED:

 Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations
plus 5 -6 years related work experience.

PREFERRED:

 Advanced degree in Human Resources, Psychology or related field from an accredited higher learning
program.
 Five or more years of HR experience.
 Thorough knowledge of I-9 requirements, experience in handling ADA, EEOC, DOL, OFCCP.
 PHR certification.
 Experience working with SAP and Kronos.
 Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES

Describe the decision-making authority of this position, the nature and extent of supervision available and the point at which higher approval is required.
Routine decision making within established Company policies and procedures. Decisions, deviating from Company policies and procedures, require higher management approval.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
2. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
4. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
5. When in a plant environment:
 Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
 May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
 May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
 May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
 May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
 Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

Responsibilities

1. Ensures newly hired associates receive an effective, timely, informative new hire orientation utilizing the company approved format and material. Schedules, conducts, facilitates, audits, and identifies new methods to improve new hire orientation
2. Provides coaching and counseling to supervisory personnel to improve the supervisors' ability to effectively direct their workforce.
3. Assists hourly and salaried personnel with assistance in conflict resolution. Ensures consistent policy application in the resolution of issues addressed. Provides training to supervisory personnel on policies and procedures
4. Manages the Peer Review / Management Review process.
5. Identifies, designs, trains, implements, and audits new methods to reduce turnover.
6. Effectively manages special projects as assigned by management.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree of equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations plus 5 -6 years related work experience.

Required Qualifications

Routine decision making within established Company policies and procedures. Decisions, deviating from Company policies and procedures, require higher management approval. Proven success in writing, updating and auditing Affirmative Action Plans, thorough knowledge of I-9 requirements, experience in handling ADA, EEOC, DOL, OFCCP. Previous experience in working with production employees in a manufacturing environment, previous experience with HRIS, proven experience in problem-solving, previous experience with automated timekeeping, Kronos preferred, previous experience in orientation of new employees. Requires an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1 to 3 year time span. Must be able to multi-task and organize multiple protocols and projects and completed on schedule. Requires strong analytical skills, analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level. Must have knowledge of and ability to provide strong customer orientation along with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and a commitment to excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Requires knowledge of and a commitment to team performance, effective coaching and demonstrated skills or a strong team player. Requires travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and/or company business.
