This Storage Engineer position requires knowledge of enterprise storage arrays with an emphasis on Hitachi G1000, VSP, HP 3-Par arrays, EMC XtremIO and NetApp e-Series. A minimum of 2 years storage experience is required, with strong knowledge of normal storage operational activities (zoning, masking, and mapping). Equivalent experience on other large storage arrays such as EMC VMAX is preferred. Experience with Brocade and/or Cisco SAN directors is also required.
 
Indepth knowledge of storage software and replication suites such as Hitachi Universal Replicator (HUR), and HTSM are a plus since storage migrations and data movement will be a large part of the work for this position.
 
Primary Responsibilities:


Storage Provisioning – Allocations and reclaims

Handling incident tickets, and problem tickets to resolution

Owning and processing changes within the environment for capacity or performance reasons

SAN Fabric Zoning – Brocade preferred / Cisco also applicable
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree or higher level of education or equivalent experience

2+ years of applicable Storage / SAN experience in one or more of the following technologies / vendors: Hitachi G1000, VSP, HP 3-Par, NetApp E-series, EMC VMAX / XtremIO, and Brocade and / or Cisco SAN fabric

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required

Ability to multi-task to successfully resolve complex issues

Must be willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends as well as be on call (typically 4 weeks throughout the year)
Preferred Qualifications:


Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

Proficiency with MS Visio 

Database Administration experience such as Oracle and SQL Server 

Knowledge of VMware 

Knowledge of storage performance and tuning tools is also preferred (TMCL and Hitachi Tuning Manager)
