POSITION PURPOSE
Position Objective: Responsible for the implementation of the Interline Brands online merchandise strategies for assigned categories of products. Ensures product findability and marketing optimization and aligns the online strategy with the overarching company goals. The eMerchant is a key contributor for achieving established business targets, increasing the focus on ecommerce within the Merchandising team and accelerating it as percent of total revenue. The eMerchant should be passionate about the customer experience and the ecommerce industry. Must have proven analytical capability and the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

50%- Brand principles of customer centricity, customer insight gathering, content creation, integrated nature of content, data, search and site navigation 
25%- Digital Marketing 
25%- Project Management
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to the VP of Merchandising (MRO). No direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment: 
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel: 
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years
Physical Requirements:
Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

Collaborate with Merchandising and Marketing teams to ensure alignment of department and category goals 
Work cross-functionally to ensure product data and attributes are consistent with company standards 
Grow e-share of product category sales to meet aggressive online growth targets 
Ensure online product findability for assigned product categories through collaboration with Product Data, eCommerce and Merchandising teams 
Collaborate with Marketing to ensure Merchandising and Product Category goals are met through various digital marketing tactics 
Working with key suppliers, secure and/or create calculators and other digital tools to assist online users in locating and selecting the right products for their particular application 
Create cross-sell and product family marketing at the item and product category level 
Create and champion content marketing strategies through information and how-to storytelling 
Review failed search reports for missed opportunities and recommend change to Internal Search manager and Merchandising department 
Assist Marketing in proper product selection for digital campaigns based on Merchandising priorities and audience/brand targets 
Understand Merchandising quarterly goals and communicate needs to obtain support from Marketing 
Understand online marketing tactics to increase share of wallet and direct users into the breadth and depth of the online product assortment 
Champion product navigation, sorting and filtering from a merchandising perspective including data and product attributes 
Analyze category performance, build reports, create presentations for and represent eCommerce in product category reviews, executive summaries and vendor meetings 
Champion product findability in new product set up and web hierarchy discussions
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:Position Requirements: 
3-5 years of experience in Digital Marketing or Merchandising field 
Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously 
Regular project updates to management 
Advanced in Excel, data repository management/PIM and CMS or other web platform experience 
Good analytical & problem solving skills 
Good interpersonal and presentation skills

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 
Bachelor?s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Ecommerce or a related field degree preferred; The ideal candidate has 3-5 year?s relevant job experience.

Collaboration abilities, teamwork and interdepartmental communication skills are critical to the success of this position.
