With strong executional focus, the F&V Technical Director will work with key stakeholders both internal and external to the PepsiCo organization to develop break-through global integrated strategies for PepsiCo strategic crops delivering aligned Technical Roadmaps leading to highly-complex technical breakthrough projects. Working in a matrix environment, successful candidate will partner with both business and R&D leaders leverage both internal and external innovation to translate stakeholder demands into R&D solutions that meet all quality and food safety requirements.

Business Development and outreach planning to deliver an integrated strategy for seed and crop protection (initially focused on citrus) with aligned Technical Roadmaps (ranging from 1-5+ years) that deliver a toolbox of disease resistant solutions.

Partners with Universities, growers and other external industry stakeholders to leverage capabilities driving towards a united industry strategy around strategic crop sustainability.

Build a network that enables crop disease foresight. Ensure the infrastructure is in place to address old and new threats quickly.

Develop framework for lift and adapt opportunities to ensure a global supply chain.

Build and maintain internal wiring with regulatory groups and agro sciences teams in R&D, procurement and operations to ensure strategies are aligned

Qualifications:

BS degree in Agriculture, Biochemistry, Food Science, Engineering, or other relevant Technical Field; advanced degree required; MBA preferred.

10+ years R&D experience

Outstanding performance as a strategic thought leader and influencers

Strong technical knowledge of F&V and competitive market.

Business development and planning along with external outreach skills.

3+ years in R&D management with some global experience preferred

Deep technical knowledge and understanding of Agro Science innovation from concept to execution with broad experience and knowledge applying agro solves from concept to application/execution.

Is able to focus on innovation leadership with strong anticipation of issues, risk management skills and attention to detail.

Understanding of both internal and external markets: Supply chain and strategic sourcing

Deep analytical skills, effective "synthesis" strategic skills and strategy articulation/integration

Global perspective and cultural appreciation

Influential and persuasive skills (vision and fact based)

Understanding and navigation of functions beyond R&D and project management

Proficiency of PepsiCo Processes and Systems

Experienced in developing long range strategic plans with business partners, for example global procurement.

Ability to operationalize long term strategies into short term capabilities that result in a pipeline of innovation.

Experienced working to bring to market seed and crop protection technologies

Connections within PepsiCo and External (Suppliers, Academia, Consultants)
