Responsibilities:

Performs sleep studies per standards set by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and performs scoring as requested by Lead Technologist

Calibrates, operates and performs routine preventive maintenance/troubleshooting on Sleep Lab equipment

Prepares and educates patient for overnight monitoring after reviewing and documenting medical history.

Monitors physiological changes throughout study being alert to any events requiring action(ex: prolonged apneic period requiring stimulation, etc.)

Scores Sleep Studies as required by protocol standards

Cleans and stores equipment and materials post exam, including cleaning and organization of sleep rooms

Required to meet one-on-one w/Lead Technologist quarterly

Contributes to QI activities and projects for the department

Responsible to keep inventory of medical supplies and advise director when supplies are needed

Required attendance of monthly department meetings

Participates in annual Impact Planning

Education: High School

Licensure:

Experience: 18 months of clinical testing in the field of sleep medicine

Certifications: CPR, BLS

Other: Must possess sufficient demonstrable technical knowledge and experience to work with intermittent supervision

Preferred Education: High School

Preferred Licensure:

Preferred Experience: 18 months of clinical testing in the field of sleep medicine

Preferred Certifications: CPR, BLS

Preferred Other: Must possess sufficient demonstrable technical knowledge and experience to work with intermittent supervision. Exercising good judgement in decisions regarding testing protocol and quality patient care.
