About this job

 MA, LPN or RN utilizes a progressive, cooperative effort to provide both direct patient care and telephone triage as authorized by licensed personnel, within his/her scope of practice. Demonstrates knowledge of standards, policies/procedures and integrates knowledge into delivery of care.

  • Accurately administers medications, immunizations accurately and in accordance with clinic policy.
  • Anticipates the needs and wants of the provider by preparing the patient, equipment and exam room for the appropriate exam. Patient care areas will be kept stocked with appropriate supplies and appropriate volume of supplies.
  • Assist the clinic Medical Assistant or Clinical Assistant as directed in making patient care decisions within their scope of practice.
  • Consistently keeps patient flow running smoothly. Demonstrates the ability to make patient care decisions based on the urgency of individual needs.
  • Demonstrates skill and judgment necessary to implement physician orders, procedures and nursing interventions.
  • Influences multidisciplinary relationships by enhancing collaborative processes.
  • Instructs patient/family/team in treatment plan and goals.
  • Participates in assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of care in a variety of complex situations as based on evidenced based care.
  • Produces appropriate, accurate and timely clinical documentation for patient care provided.

Clinical - Must have the ability to assess patient's medical status and accurately and thoroughly document findings in their medical records.  Interpersonal - Ability to communicate in an effective professional manner, with various types of people, regardless of their age, background, skills, and abilities.  Organizational - Must have strong organizational skills and be able to work efficiently under stress.  Combination - Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  Time Management - Ability to establish priorities and manage time effectively.

Must have good computer skills.  Previous experience with EMR a plus.

Required: Current SD RN or LPN license or MA Registration/Certification

 

Physical Demands: Medium Work
Lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Must work independently. Must have a strong sense of organization and work efficiently under stress. Must meet deadlines. Must work with frequent interruptions. Must have decision-making capabilities. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. Worker may be exposed to communicable diseases, possible blood, body fluids and other conditions common to
clinic environment.
