PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
To provide stocking support for Frozen Food and/or Dairy Department.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Emphasis in this position is on stocking, load cutting, sorting, ordering and
display building in order to ensure maximum department sales and product availability. Primary learning challenge is product location, ordering and acquiring necessary production speed in cutting, sorting, and stocking. This position requires ongoing judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, reading, moderate to heavy lifting, operation of pallet jack and box cutter and exposure to cold temperatures. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. Assignments and work direction are provided by the Frozen Food and/or Dairy Lead or person in charge.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
* Provides friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interactions.
* Throughout the store, greets customers in a genuine and friendly manner. Learns customer names and uses them respectfully in greetings.
* Assists customers throughout the store by:
* Escorting them to products they are looking for
* Loading or unloading heavy items and assisting with products that are out of reach
* Offering product and/or recipe suggestions and recommendations
* Responding to customers' questions and requests in a timely manner
* Treating them as the most important people in the store
* Sincerely thanks customers for their business and choosing our store.
* Demonstrates teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
* Receives, sorts and stocks frozen food and/or dairy products
* Unloads product off truck-Monitors and verifies load, signs invoice and locks receiving area-Sorts and stocks product, handles overstock-Ensures proper rotation, facing, product handling, load limits, placement and cutting-Monitors proper temperatures for cases and coolers-Is aware of reasonable productivity expectation
* Performs display preparation and upkeep
* Prepares location according to instruction and cuts, stocks and faces display product
* Performs ongoing clean up of sales floor and backroom
* Performs general aisle clean up immediately, compacts cardboard, stacks pallets, cleans up spills-Utilizes protective devices (jacket, thermal gloves, hat)
* Assists cashiers with product replacement and price checks, assists customers with information and product location, and responds to department phone calls
* Follows all store and department policies andprocedures
Functional Requirements
Frequent: Physical - lifting 36 to 60 lbs., lifting/carrying 15 to 30 lbs., pushing/pulling 900 to 2200 lbs., kneeling, squatting, turning, reaching, walking, standing, stooping/bending, equipment operation (hand jack, power jack, box cutter, flatbed, compactor, broom, mop, intercom system)
Mental - judgment/decision making, math, memorization, reading, social/verbal interaction
Environmental - extended period of time in cooler (38 degrees) and freezer (-20 degrees)
Occasional: Physical - crawling, climbing ladders, walking on uneven ground, lifting 60 to 70 lbs.
* Notifies P.O.S. of new product and discrepancies
* Assists in maintaining department signs-Assists with product ordering
* Education and/or Experience
* High school education (or concurrent enrollment in an educational institution) preferred but not required
