Work & Play where you Live - Lewis & Clark State Park has several Seasonal Maintenance Technician's positions open for the 2017 season.

Lewis and Clark State Park is located 19 miles southeast of Williston, North Dakota off of Highway 1804. Located waterfront on the upper bays of Beautiful Lake Sakakawea with the rugged buttes of the North Dakota Badlands display a towering backdrop to one of North Dakota's best recreation areas.

Job Description:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of park grounds and facilities.
  • Perform general labor and grounds work such as picking up trash and litter, mowing grass, operating maintenance equipment, etc.
  • Plant, fertilize, spray, water, prune, seed, propagate, and cultivate grasses, flowers, bushes, trees, and other plants and shrubbery.
  • Prepare surfaces for finish painting by using, scrapers, sandpaper, primers, sealers, etc.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of park equipment such as mowers, power tools, and vehicles.
  • The use of property safely in operations with equipment, tools, etc. is required.
  • The use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required.
  • Job Training is available.

Positions are 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.
  • General work experience in maintenance, horticulture or facility maintenance including tasks such as janitorial, painting, landscaping, grounds keeping, etc.
  • Ability to use general maintenance equipment such as ladders, hand tools, etc.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to varying weather conditions/temperatures for extended periods, and work effectively during daylight and evening hours.
  • Ability to move 50 to 100 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to operate and use power tools and equipment safely.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with the ability to operate motor vehicles to include cars, pickups, and grounds maintenance equipment.

Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.
