Housing Information Office is the main point of contact for the general public or all Housing related inquiries, new and continuing student Housing assignments, and the central campus MCard Center.

Job Summary

The position serves as the main point of contact for Housing Information Front Desk Operations which includes the MCard Center, and acts as general office support for Assignment Coordinators (3) and the Health Disability Coordinator.

Responsibilities* Administrative Duties - 60%

Provide functional supervision to 10 - 15 student staff members n the Housing Information Office (assignments office and the MCard Center).

Assist with selection, training, and supervision of Information Assistants (student employees) to deliver high level of customer service.

Communicate, plan, create and implement training sessions to keep student staff up-to-date on processes and procedures related to Housing Assignments and MCard production.

Assist assignment area with on-line placement, contract submission, parental signatures for housing contracts and petition to terminate housing contracts.

Formally respond to inquiries regarding housing policies and procedures via telephone and in-person to resolve complaints and problems related to housing applications, contracts, services and MCard production, sometimes of a highly complex nature.

General office support for Assignment Coordinators and the Health Disability Coordinator.

Manage day-to-day MCard production for students, staff, faulty and visitors.

Daily cash reconciliation, reports and deposits for MCard and Blue Buck revenue.

Other - 40%

In conjunction with the Administrative Assistant, Sr., assist with the Freshman Orientation Timesavers and Summer Conference Programs.

Assist in managing electronic communications for University Housing, including but not limited to general information, MCard, and Conferences.

Serve as a backup for completion of Rental Verification Requests.

Manage scanning of all electronic files and parental signatures (Housing contract). Intake of all petitions to terminate housing contracts.

Responsible for ordering and maintaining MCard supplies.

Open and close the office daily.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications* Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Two to four years of relevant office and customer service experience with strong interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel and Google) aptitude to learn new software packages, knowledge of basic office equipment.

Work hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Specialized knowledge: Experience with MPathways and Wolverine Access, Odyssey HMS, MCard, WebNow

Working conditions:

This position is responsible for opening and closing the office on a daily basis. The working schedule is 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends.
