Cargill Corn Milling North America is a manufacturer of value-added corn and sugar based products serving the Food, Feed and Fermentation segments. From facilities/terminals in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee, Massachusetts, and Texas, we provide a wide variety of products and services including high fructose corn syrup, corn syrups, dextrose syrups and sucrose that are used in an array of beverage, brewing, confectionery, food and pharmaceutical applications. We also produce a variety of innovative, dry corn ingredients that are used in cereals, snacks, breads, tortillas and animal feed applications. Position Overview

Terminal Operators are directly involved in handling movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies and verifies the accuracy of work performed. Operators will participate in food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance programs and procedures. May operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment and perform basic troubleshooting on process systems, lab equipment, and office equipment.

The terminal is a fast pace and labor intensive environment. Operators will be subject to performing tasks indoor and outdoor under varying temperature extremes, dealing with heights, handling of chemicals, and working around a wide variety of continuous process equipment.

Principal Accountabilities:

* Unload sweetener syrup from rail cars to storage tanks to maintain inventories.

* Loading tanker trucks with sweetener syrup and certified weight records.

* Quality control, sampling, product integrity, and refract meter checks/records for all sweetener commodities received and delivered.

* Procedures, policies and practices adherence and development.

* Washing tanker trucks to food safety/hauling specifications.

* First line trouble shooting of boiler, process systems, and wash rack systems.

Terminal Operator responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

* Monitor/control dispatch to insure sweetener product is delivered to customers on time.

* Adjust dispatch and work with customers to facilitate schedule add-ons and changes.

* Interact with railroad group to receive correct product switches.

* Monitor and reorder routine operational supplies.

* Physical labor includes - moving 3" and 4" hoses, carting flanges and minimal tools.

* Perform maintenance projects and repairs.

Required:

* High School education or equivalent

* Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends

* Ability to work in an environment with noise, elevated work(up to 20 ft), and varied temperatures

* Ability to work with operating machinery and around heavy equipment

* Ability and willingness to comply with all Cargill policies, health and safety requirements such as jewelry restrictions, the use and wearing of safety/personal protective equipment (e.g. wearing safety equipment such as hardhats, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective footwear, etc.), and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

* Ability to lift 50 lbs

* Valid Driver license

Preferred:

* Experience operating a forklift

* Experience operating a bobcat

* Experience operating a front-end loader

* Experience in manufacturing/production, warehousing, or distribution environment

The starting salary is $22.00 per hour. Potential of making up to $25.00 after one year. (Based on performance)
