We operate more than 20 manufacturing, processing and warehousing locations that make salt from three major production methods:

* Mechanical evaporation at facilities in the U.S. in California, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, New York and Ohio

This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing and performing preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment for a salt production facility.

This position is located in Newark, CA. Relocation assistance will not be provided.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

* Maintain, repair, and perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) rounds on processing and packing equipment such as baggers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, screw conveyors, and bucket elevators, pumps, fans, centrifuges, piping/valve systems, mobile equipment, etc.

* Learn and utilize precision maintenance craft skills

* Welding skills including stick and MIG welding of carbon and stainless steel and basic fabrication

* Set rigging

Secondary Accountabilities include:

* Read blue prints, understand task symbols, and read operation manuals

* Assist with inventory and parts as needed

* Troubleshoot electrical controls

* PdM skills will be learned and utilized as needed including lubrication, ultrasonic infrared, and vibration

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Valid California Driver License with acceptable driving record

* Available and willing to work any shifts/days (including days, swing shift, graveyard, weekdays, weekends, and holidays) and overtime

* Be physically able to perform the job duties including bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights up to 100 feet, lifting up to 60lbs, working in confined spaces, using respirators and working at high temperatures

* Demonstrated positive attitude toward/interest in safety and safe work rules

* Able to read, write, and speak English

* Able to work outdoors and in inclement weather

* Minimum two years of experience as a machinist, maintenance mechanic, and/or millwright

* Experience with the standard methods, principles, practices, tools, and equipments in a minimum of five (5) of the following maintenance trades:

* Welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication

* Rigging systems through the use of chain falls, beam clamps, slings, etc.

* Gearbox and bearing maintenance

* Lubrication

* Pumps and piping systems

* Mechanical maintenance (i.e. design, reading prints)

* Hydraulaic and pneumatic systems

* Power transmission systems

* Automotive maintenance

* Agricultural or construction mobile equipment

Assets:

* Technical degree or equivalent, in a maintenance related field

* Working knowledge of SAP, MS Office, and Windows

* Experience as a mechanic in an industrial/manufacturing setting

* Experience with predictive maintenance technologies

* Experience with electric motors, pumps, water systems, and other similar equipment and systems

* Maintenance experience with material handling equipment (i.e. conveyors, screeners, bagging lines, etc.)

* Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of mechanical equipment design and fabrication

* Experience with maintenance of diesel drive equipment (ex., dozers, graders, wheel loaders, tractors, etc.)
