Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Full-time

Golden Queen Mining Company, LLC is operating a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:

The successful candidate will troubleshoot and repair large mining equipment and work both in and out of the shop on equipment repairs. Applicant must be willing to perform other duties as directed and work within Company and State Environmental and safety policies. This job may require working 12 hour rotating shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant must have at least 5 years experience on heavy equipment repair; a strong background in Komatsu equipment repairs; good troubleshooting skills, able to read and understand schematics, service manuals and parts books; and be able to operate all shop tools and equipment. Equipment includes Komatsu dozers, loaders, haul trucks, excavators, and drills.

Applicant must have good written and verbal communication skills and work outside during inclement weather. Successful applicants must be able to work with little or no supervision and have all tools required for the position.
