Summary:

The Test Design Engineer will provide test related engineering services and other related test design and development support throughout the lifecycle of product development and production.

Length:

  • 6 month contract guaranteed but potential to be extended and/or taken on directly with the company. This is due to the nature of the business since the company is an Engineering Services firm.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops functional test systems and fixtures that satisfy the customer's requirements; develops and executes verification and validation procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing test development technologies including functional test, MDA, boundary scan, ICT, flying probe, etc. and the appropriate circumstances to deploy the technologies.
  • Assists project management in the development of proposals to ensure accurate technical, staffing, budgetary, and schedule content.
  • Provides constructive and timely feedback to other members of the team based on knowledge and experience.
  • Installs functional test systems at the manufacturing site, provides operator training, and support of the system.
  • Utilizes appropriate tools and equipment to perform necessary design work including design development, analysis, and verification.
  • Works with manufacturing teams, customers, and project managers provide highly responsive support for test systems; including trouble shooting, repair, and maintenance.
  • Has a clear understanding of the full product development and manufacturing transition process.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Supports a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five years previous experience in a manufacturing test development environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and similar quality standards
  • Previous experience in product development AND manufacturing on electro-mechanical devices
