Surgical Services Nurse Director

An exciting opportunity is available at a growing hospital located in the Phoenix, Arizona area. This 100 bed hospital is looking for a Nurse Director of Surgical Services to play a vital role in the continued success of this for-profit medical center.

The Perioperative Services Nurse Director will join the ranks of a leadership team that has been providing medical care for much of the area for over 50 years. The Surgery Nurse Director will report to the Director of Nursing and will be responsible for: Pre-Op, PACU, Operating Room, Sterile Processing and Endoscopy. The OR Clinical Nurse Director will manage 5 Operating rooms, 1 designated Endoscopy Suite and 10 PACU bays.

This is a great promotional opportunity for an OR Nurse Manager looking to transition into Director position as the Periop Nurse Director may occasionally need to be hands-on. Candidates with CNOR credentials and recent operating room exposure would be ideal. The Surgical Services Nurse Director will be supported by a Pre-Op and PACU Nurse Coordinator that will assist in employee management, staffing and patient flow throughout this robust department.

The Perioperative Services Nurse Director will find ample room to grow professionally within this hospital and the healthcare organization. This hospital is part of a large medical system that operates acute care hospitals throughout multiple states in the U.S.

The advanced medical staff at this hospital provide a full array of health care services including: orthopedics and sports medicine, advanced surgical procedures, emergency care, diagnostic imaging, women’s services, maternity care, wound care, intensive care, ophthalmology, rehab and pain management.

The OR, PACU, Pre-Op Nurse Director will oversee a surgical services department that specializes in balloon sinuplasty, bariatrics, colorectal, cosmetic/plastics, esophyX TIF, gastroenterology, obstetrics, gynecology, maxiofacial, orthopedic, otolaryngology and podiatry.

This hospital currently has an interim Surgical Services Director in place and is actively interviewing. The Surgery, OR Nurse Director will be compensated with a nice salary and comprehensive health and retirement benefits.
