The Closer's role throughout the life of a loan is critical to the overall customer experience. The Closer is responsible for performing a variety of loan documentation duties and ensuring that the loan file is complete while adhering to Investor requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for performing a variety of loan documentation on complex loans
Processing, closing and compliance for loan products, interpreting policies while analyzing applicant property and documentation;
Ordering all required verifications, documentation and subsequent follow-ups
May provide guidance and training to other loan documentation team members
May manage an assigned pipeline of loans and/or assign new loans to other loan team members.
May act as a liaison between lenders and legal.
Additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
This is in a shared services environment with about 50+ mortgage processors, TRID disclosers, Underwriters and closers. Dress is business casual and the environment is VERY fast paced, especially in the summer. There is a buzz going on and everyone is working at a fast pace.
Qualifications
2+ years of recent closing experience
3+ years of experience in mortgage application processing or industry experience.
6+ months experience processing and/or closing conforming and non-conforming loan products, including data analysis and validation.
6+ months of customer service experience
Ability to perform tasks with limited supervision and in a very fast paced environment.
6+ months experience with specific loan products (Government, Conventional, etc).
Ability to handle confidential material in a professional, highly ethical manner.
