POSITION PURPOSE - Conduct investigations to detect and resolve issues of internal and external theft and provides shrink follow up. Provide information for legal issues and appear in court.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Analyzes information and conducts investigations of possible theft / fraud. Collects and reviews P.O.S. register information, computer exception reports, vault activity reports and other related documents. Conducts interviews for internal dishonest activity. Detains and interviews persons apprehended for shoplifting, in accordance with local laws and Company procedures once satisfying all four elements of proof. Communicates with Store Management and DLPM on bookkeeping, computer room, special services, receiving, front-end, and RTVs loss exposure.
NATURE AND SCOPE - Typically reports to stores with LPM: In stores without LPM: Store Manager & District Loss Prevention Manager. This position has no direct reports. Typically has frequent contacts outside the workgroup. Typically procedures for analyzing situations and making conclusions are diverse. Typically considers among several options and past practice when solving problems. Typically progress or results of work is regularly checked and prior approval is required before changing standard work procedures. ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - There are some deadlines or productivity standards or the work is somewhat varied.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - A formal training program after High School. 1+ year(s) experience as a retail-related LPI or equivalent. Competent in the use of retail CCTV systems. Understanding of external theft surveillance and apprehension methodologies. Excellent analyticall skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
