Part Time Data Collector

PART-TIME TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES NEEDED TO COLLECT DATA FOR AFTER-SCHOOL COMMUNITY-BASED STUDY

Headway Workforce Solutions is partnering with Education, Training, and Research (ETR) Associates, a nationally known, private, non-profit, health education organization, to identify qualified and motivated individuals to work with its Research Department as Part-Time Temporary Data Collectors.  This study is in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University and West Virginia University. 

Data collectors will work specifically on the after-school-based Making Healthy Decisions study in Pittsburgh, PA. Data collection will take place in after-school programs at community-based organizations (CBOs) affiliated with Planned Parenthood from October 2016 through the end of 2018, with additional work available into 2019. Pay for this position begins at $15 per hour depending on experience, and will also offer mileage reimbursement at the standard government rate.

As a Part-Time Temporary Data Collector, you will…

• Attend data collection training(s) on TBD and complete online course on human subjects’ protection
• Administer electronic student surveys at selected CBOs in one regional area (see 6 regions above) according to the study’s standard protocol in coordination with the data collection team while maintain complete and accurate documentation of project tasks
• Assist with data collection materials preparation, device setup, and data synching as necessary
• Partner with after-school programs and facilitators to coordinate and schedule surveying at multiple timepoints
• Maintain effective communication with Project Coordinator, Lead Data Collection Team, and other project team members regarding project tasks and schedules, and any procedural issues or problems that arise during data collection
• Maintain up-to-date schedule of availability for data collection scheduling

What We Need from You:

• Previous experience working with adolescents
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal skills
• Comfortable working with portable electronic technology such as laptops, tablets and uploading and downloading data
• Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Stay in frequent communication with your team via email and phone
• Willingness to travel around one regional area (see 6 regions above)
• Possess a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance
