PURPOSE OF POSITION:   As a Senior Precision Agriculture Program Planner - Training based out of our corporate office in Richmond, VA, you will develop, maintain and implement Precision Farming Programs through any applicable Southern States business operation.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Manage and grow the GrowMaster Training Program throughout the Southern States network.
  • Develop and implement the curriculum and materials for Precision Ag products and services for sales and operation.
  • Develop and implement the curriculum and materials for data management program training.
  • Develop and implement KnowledgeMaster Precision Ag certification process
  • Develop and implement GrowMaster Sprayer certification process.
  • Trains and supports field staff on total software and equipment usage of the Precision Farming Programs.
  • Develop and implement new and enhanced Precision Ag Programs to producers and growers.
  • Maintains dialogue with Information Systems on technology needs to implement Precision Ag Programs.
  • Frequently reviews the market, selects and recommends effective, usable software and equipment.
  • Remains abreast of current competitive Precision Ag offerings.
  • Seeks opportunity to apply the service for growth in seed, crop protectants, fertilizer, feed, petroleum and related services.
  • Stays current with state of the art equipment used to perform Precision Ag Services.
  • Review dealer equipment and makes recommendations as to type and replacement on an on-going basis.
  • Develops, recommends and participates in promotion tactics: Brochures, presentations, meetings, events, how to sell the service, etc.
  • Reviews and recommends growth opportunities throughout the territory.
  • Recommends development of services through multiple distribution channels.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree, bachelors or associates, in Crops Science, Business Management or applicable curriculum. (Associates degree would require more experience for consideration)
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the Ag Technology industry
  • CCA not required, but preferred
  • High level of communication abilities, written and verbal.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • High level of ability to work in cross-functional groups.
  • High level of innovation and problem solving
  • Travel approximately 50%
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed.

Requires physical strength and dexterity to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop, twist and lift/carry 50 pounds. Vision, hearing and speech essential. Hand coordination to use computer. Requires a valid driver's license. While traveling may have contact with hazardous materials and drive/travel and work in adverse weather conditions.
