This position is responsible for supervising the accounts receivable function of our Home Service division.  Overall focus is to ensure accurate records, including filing unpaid invoices and keeping account of cash receipts, claims and overdue invoices.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of accounting staff including\: tracing sources of error and correcting billing records for clients, processing records for advance or final billing.
  • Computes and records interest charges, refunds and similar items.
  • Prepares vouchers, invoices or account statements.
  • Traces source and corrects client errors in billing rates, misapplied credits or identifying information.
  • Confers with other departments to trace payments on bills and to provide information on charges on a client's bill.
  • Approves all general ledger entries for payments involving amounts over a specified limit and ensures accuracy of calculations, information and approvals.  
  • Trains and directs staff on the accounts receivable system and company policies and procedures.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries on accounts receivable policies and procedures.
  • Interviews, counsels and evaluates staff to ensure effective support.
  • Supervises trains and develops a team of Accounts Receivable Representatives.
Qualification:
Education\: Bachelor's Degree required, accounting degree preferred.  
Years of Related Experience\: Typically has a minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience, including people leadership experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities\:
  • Must have multiple years of people leadership experience, including a passion for motivating, mentoring and developing people.
  • Goal oriented, with great critical thinking and the ability to solve complex problems
  • Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in the use of automated general ledger systems and reporting tools
  • Advanced analytical skills including numeric analytic techniques
  • Intermediate skills in the development of financial ratios and comparative analysis
  • Thorough understanding of general accounting principles and accepted standards
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively present financial data to a variety of audiences
