  • Business analyst dedicated to Capital Markets Technology initiatives and deal support.
  • Extensive interaction with front office business partners of varying levels in capital markets, origination, sales, as well as business management, operations and compliance.
  • Specific focus on the ABS syndication process including CMBS and RMBS

Enterprise Role Overview:

Provides technical systems and software support for maintenance, modification, implementation, or conversion of business systems to support ongoing delivery of services and/or operations in the Global Markets environment. Manages multiple applications/development projects, or single major complex initiatives in a small area of the development function. Translates business needs into technical requirements and ensures all systems support and conform to business needs and specifications. Employees are expected to have in-depth global markets product knowledge, and manage a high level of risk. Acts as liaison between business unit and software and hardware developers and vendors. Serves as a fully seasoned and proficient technical resource. Responsible for day to day supervision for a small team of employees; provides coaching and input into the performance management process. Typically requires 5-7 years of applicable experience. This job code is only to be used for employees supporting Global Markets .


Required Skills:

  • Providing application expertise and support to the business during Capital Markets deal execution
  • Coordinating with other technology teams and software vendor(s) to troubleshoot and resolve open issues and request enhancements; assist with tracking work in progress, including status and target dates;
  • Assisting with gathering metrics on team / vendor productivity;
  • Collaborating with technical leads and software vendors to design technology solutions that meet business needs; producing mock-ups / specifications for business approval;
  • Developing use cases, test strategies / plans, reviewing test scripts by offshore QA team, performing expert user testing;
  • Creating and executing plans for training and user acceptance testing;
  • Creating quick reference guides for business users and documenting processes / guidelines for technology team;
  • Providing application training and demonstrations
  • Checking out applications post-production release to ensure that they are functioning correctly and sending notifications / release notes to business users.
  • Gaining an in-depth understanding of Capital Markets applications
  • Identifying process redundancies and/or inefficiencies that can create pain points for the business and how CM technology solutions can provide increased business efficiency;
  • Familiarity with fundamentals of development process, web development and database design and system integration concepts; basic SQL query writing skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking ability; ability to troubleshoot production issues and get them resolved quickly by the appropriate support team;
  • Experience working directly with the front office, ideally in a trading floor or primary market environments
  • A solid understanding of equity, bond and/or syndicated loan fundamentals
  • Experience with capital markets and the syndication process
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize effectively and handle responsibilities for multiple projects / support issues concurrently
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; ability to get a point across quickly and concisely is important
  • Experience working as part of a global team
  • BI Tools experience such as MS Office, Visio, MS Project, Sharepoint, HP Quality Center and / or TFS a plus, Tableau
