Global Security Compliance & Controls Program Manager

Position Summary

This position is responsible for implementation, oversight and coordination of the Governance, Risk and Compliance program for our Clients Global Security function. This role will have direct responsibility with a large financial services client with global compliance and controls activities. This will include regulatory, process & controls compliance as well as multiple levels of reporting. This role will centrally manage projects and administrative activities required. Position will interface with Senior Security management as well as Corporate Compliance, Audit and other corporate functions. Ensure self and Department complies with risk and compliance programs and actions with relevant laws and regulatory requirements including the timely completion of related training. Coordinates path to ensure self and Department adhere to company policies and guidelines and maintains oversight of compliance assurance events and policy requirements for scope, objectives, and timeframe.

  • Build strong relationships with other First Line Risk, Compliance, Risk, Audit, Legal, and business colleagues
  • Oversee Security controls work - Orchestrate and drive the successful and timely completion of Controls Assurance/Testing, including the identification and resolution of risks and issues
  • Closely works with others to remediate new and outstanding issues; track security-related issues in the electronic GRC system(s).
  • Ensure self and Department anticipates, monitors, actively manages and reports all risk and compliance issues, breaches and suspicious activities
  • Actively participate in committees and risk management projects as needed
  • Helps establish and oversee the functions first line of defense vulnerability and testing program and further takes actions to prepare the function for and assist with 2nd and 3rd Line reviews
  • Helps implement and oversee a formal reporting program including controls and compliance reporting & compliance tracking status.
  • Supports and contributes to compliance program implementation projects, tasks and project plans.
  • Improve overall program practices and benchmarks with proactive improvements such as automated tools to minimize manual work (and errors) and further program maturity.
  • Maintains research and compliance knowledge including relevant industry regulations and resources which benefits the overall program and elements such as the central policy system
  • Participates in the creation and implementation of new standards and procedures.
  • Share expertise with colleagues and other departments
  • Exercise significant discretion and judgment with regard to matters of significance

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration or a related field plus at least 3 years of experience in a service industry.
  • Proven strong service orientation, excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in Compliance, Risk or Audit in controls and testing within a financial service or related industry preferred. Experience in with business processes and systems in a compliance role also preferred. Ability to work independently in both traditional defined as well as new emerging compliance areas
  • Ability to develop and grow client relationships
  • Ability to make decisions and conduct courageous conversations
  • Manage multiple tasks with ability to manage multiple priorities, complex situations, a diverse team of employees and client requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a timely manner any changes or recommendations that could have impact on our service image or brand
  • In-depth understanding of financial performance
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented management environment while having an entrepreneurial attitude.
